I love the way you stylize your art. The figures are realistic with such beautiful skin tones. But, it's still completely in a style all your own. Especially with their hair, I love the hair!
It's awesome that with your style I can see any of your new work come through my deviant watch page and know it's your new piece at first glance without ever reading the name underneath.
Plus, the mood set by the background is just perfect.
Awesome!!!

Thanks so much man!! I struggle a great deal right now with style and whatnot. Struggle in the sense that I don't see it, but others do! LOL! This piece definitely shows a couple of my influences. Mucha is reflected in the hair, and Klimt in some of the background shapes. I seem to get soo much better reactions to my traditional mediums. Whatever magic exists in my traditional stuff I'm working hard to transfer that to my digital. But digital by it's very nature kinda robs what makes traditional so powerful and kinda magical at times. I can't help but look at this piece and see areas that need improvement and wish it was digital so that I could go back in and fix em!! LOL!
I would have never guessed you struggle with your style if you hadn't just said it. I can see it in everything you do. But, as we both know, we are always our own worst critics. I pretty much hate everything I create and everything I've ever created. But, that makes us strive to want to be better than we currently are.
From all of your art I've seen I think you work very very well in all mediums, whether it's your digital works or your traditional works. And, not that they aren't equally wondrous for different reasons, I think traditional work will always have some added inherent magic to them. Especially when so much is currently done digitally. But that's just my opinion. I love traditional art. So much so I've even noticed that I'll enjoy a traditionally done piece more than some digital pieces that are more technically and creatively sound. I'm not sure why, but I assume it's because when my parents first introduced me to art it was renaissance and baroque period pieces, but who knows.
Man, I completely understand wishing some of my traditional pieces had the ability to let me re-work areas I don't think look like I want them to. I know some people can digitally create art that looks completely traditionally created. I want to learn to work like that in Corel Painter. One day

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This is YOUR opportunity to mock, ridicule and generally take great delight and amusement whilst poking fun at the beloved Volunteers and Staff of deviantART.
